JEFFERSON COUNTY CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING & REPRESENTATION TIMELINE
Before January 1, 2026
Voters are represented under the 2021 congressional map PLANC2193, which places Jefferson County voters in District 14 or District 36.
January 1, 2026
New congressional district boundaries under PLANC2333 take effect for voting purposes. Some voters’ districts change even though they have not moved. The website “Who Represents Me?” is reflective of who, during 2026, currently represents you, and who you will continue to contact, until 12/31/2026.
March 2026
Secretary of State releases Jefferson County Mass Mailing of ORANGE Voter Registration Cards. These NEW Voter Registration cards reflect WHO you are voting for in the next election, not who currently represents you.
The ORANGE Voter Registration cards are valid from 1/1/2026 – 12/31/2027.
March 3, 2026
Primary elections are conducted using PLANC2333 district lines.
May 26, 2026
Primary runoff elections (if required) are held under the PLANC2333 boundaries.
March 3 – December 31, 2026
Although voters cast ballots using PLANC2333, they continue receiving constituent services from the representatives elected under PLANC2193 until the end of the year. Again, the NEW maps approved by Jefferson County Commissioner’s Court for voting purposes in Jefferson County do reflect redistricting and we are required by election code 42.035 to post them on the county website. Who Represents Me? (https://wrm.capitol.texas.gov/home) currently reflects BOTH PLANC2193 maps and PLANC2333 Congressional District. The updated maps will take effect 1/1/2027.
November 3, 2026
General election is held using PLANC2333 district lines. Newly elected representatives do not take office immediately.
January 1, 2027
Newly elected representatives are sworn in and begin providing constituent services according to the PLANC2333 districts.
